Is Europe going to lift their flight restrictions or not? The contradicting news is confusing!?

I keep seeing that the airlines are calling it a European “mess” and that they are pushing the ministers to open airspace even if that ash cloud remains there.The scientists are all saying it is still not safe. what gives? I am set to fly to Europe (Amsterdam) Friday and I can say that even if they lift the restrictions I am still scared to death of going. My husband is not worried and thinks we will be able to fly but I just want to cancel until we figure out what is going on.
It seems it is economic related. Cant they find a way to get stranded people back home without planes. Cant they use ships? I hate to say this…and I KNOW it has an economic impact but I do not think that lives are worth being lost over the risk. Sure, the test flights may have gone well but there only has to be that ONE plane that gets the glass/sand mixture into their engines and it will crash. That is like knowing there is a terrorist on the loose and knowing he will be on a plane in the next few days and still continuing to fly. Would you want it to be YOUR plane he was on?
I think the airlines need to put safety first.

Why are the news station Only talking about the money lost and not of what’s really going on with the Volcano?

When I try and get information about the Iceland Volcano all the news stations here in America can talk about is money lost in the airlines or with the flower industry, why is it all about money are we that shallow? Why isn’t anyone reporting on how the ppl of Iceland are going to be able to recover or about how the 2nd Volcano is showing signs of erupting also? I’m seeing news articles from other news sources outside the US that paint a diffrent picture. When the earthquake in Haiti happen America broadcast it all day long. Tons of charities set out to help them. But a Volcano is more serious why don’t new media tell more??

Is it going to rain acid because of the Iceland Volcanic ash clouds?

Is it going to rain acid because of the ash clouds over Europe? I think the worst thing that could happen in this event is the Acidic rain, the ash is over western Europe, number’s one region in farming. Imagine what would happen if the acidic rain is going to hit Europe!!!! It is going to be a disaster for the whole world!

And can someone please show me information on where the ash clouds are going to travel? I heard that the ash reached Britain and France, is that right?
